Who are the partners and how do I serve?

Partners include The Corps Network, Corporation for National Community Service, YUSA, National Park Service, Department of the Interior and the Mayor’s Office in each participating city. Corpsmembers will work closely with the Community Coordinators at the YMCA who have been tasked to convene community partners around the goals of the Play, Learn, Serve, and Work initiative; develop opportunities for service and volunteerism; and promote participation.

What type of AmeriCorps Education Award will I receive?

The AmeriCorps position is a 12 month term of service.  Upon completion, corpsmembers will receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award for $5,730 that can be used for college, graduate school, or to pay back qualified student loans.

How am I paid?  How much is my living stipend?

The CCC AmeriCorps members are paid via living stipend.  A living stipend is a modest annual living allowance and can vary depending on the specific program.  The YMCA AmeriCorps Let’s Move Outside program issues a yearly living stipend of $12,530.  This will be paid in even disbursements bi-weekly. Corpmembers may receive this stipend via paper check or direct deposit if you choose to enroll.
